GutGuard – Packaging Design

VetMed Pharmaceuticals is a rising vet pharmaceutical company dedicated to researching, developing, and distributing high-quality healthcare solutions for animals worldwide. They’re committed to innovation and improving animal health, making them a trusted industry leader.
VetMed Pharmaceuticals wanted a packaging design for their newly developed digestive aid called GutGuard.

GutGuard is specifically formulated to support the digestive health of four key animal species: poultry, rabbits, cows, and horses.

The Approach

The client’s requirement was to have a unique design for each species while maintaining a cohesive visual identity across all packaging variants. To address this challenge, I developed a packaging design concept that conveys trust, care, and empathy.

GutGuard is a sub-brand from VetMed, and their target market is farmers who are seeking a reliable digestive aid for their animals. According to research, the trust between the veterinarian and farmer is crucial for effective communication and improvements in animal health. Thus, the packaging design needed to create a sense of reliability and professionalism. It should feel right at the farmer’s home. To achieve this, I employed a user-centered approach in the packaging design.

The user-centered approach in packaging design promotes the well-being, health, and engagement of the end user. Specifically, in the case of GutGuard, the packaging design takes into consideration the needs and preferences of farmers, whereas the packaging design of GutGuard aims to instill trust and confidence in the product. By utilizing a clean and professional design, the packaging communicates reliability and expertise. The inclusion of informative labels and easily understandable instructions ensures that farmers can effectively use the product and achieve the desired results for their animals.
